Shirlene has been juried into a wide variety of shows, and illustrations have been used in books. She has paintings on permanent acquisition at The University of Tulsa, Tulsa, Oklahoma; and, at the Women's Center of St. Francis Hospital, Columbus, Georgia. Her work is currently on exhibit at The Joseph House Gallery Cooperative, Columbus, Georgia, where she has been a featured guest artist and exhibitor. Works have sold internationally.

She works in a variety of media, favoring watercolor, acrylic and oil pastel. Her work includes many subjects, styles and techniques. And, she does work on consignment.

Credentials include being a Member and past President of The Joseph House Gallery Cooperative, Columbus, Georgia; a Member and Past Secretary of the Columbus Artists' Guild, Columbus, Georgia; and, a Member and Past Vice President and Past President of the National League of American Pen Women. She is a Member of the American Impressionist Society, the Georgia Watercolor Society and the Watercolor Society of Alabama.

Shirlene received a BA from the University of Tulsa with special studies in Oils, Watercolor, Collages, Pastels, Acrylics, Pen and Ink, Pottery and Lithography. Additional studies have included Pottery (hand-building) and Clay Sculpture. Watercolor and Oil Pastel skills were developed in El Paso, Texas and Columbus, Georgia. She teaches classes in her favorite media.
