Geri McGriff Davis was born in the Canal Zone, the daughter of a Naval Officer, which gave her the opportunity to travel extensively. Her appreciation and concern for the environment developed at an early age, and continues to this day, and is one of the major expressions of her painting. Since graduating from Auburn University with a BA in Art and subsequent MS in Counseling & Human Development, she has been an art educator in Columbus for 32 years. She lectures on "Art as Therapy" and the "Preservation of Georgia's Endangered Wildflowers" and is integral in Georgia's Project: WILD Flower.

Primarily a watercolorist, Geri also works in oil, pen and ink. She is a signature member of the Georgia Watercolor Society, and her paintings have graced the covers of several magazines. She is an experienced judge and juror, and her awards are legion. She is active in the National League of American Penwomen, National Art Educator's Association, Georgia Art Therapy Association, and numerous local organizations. Among her many exhibits is the Joseph House Art Gallery Cooperative in Columbus, GA.
